-Spreadtrum Communication announced at the 3GSM World Congress 2007 that it has successfully commercialized the TD-SCDMA/GSM dual-mode auto roaming solution based on its SC8800 dual-mode chip platform. Spreadtrum also announced it has developed SC8800H, the first TD-SCDMA core chip that supports HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) function. The first batch of HSDPA-enabled TD-SCDMA mobile phones are expected to be available in mid-2007.

-China's Ministry of Information Industry confirmed the construction of TD-SCDMA trial networks in the cities of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Qinhuangdao, Tianjin, and Shenyang. Overall, TD-SCDMA trial networks have already extended to 10 cities.
